House party taken over by evil beat box toy

Blanchardstown, Dublin. The evening had started as a normal party, guests arrived, exchanged gossip, enjoyed food and drink. However, things took an evil turn at around midnight. One of the guests discovered the beat box toy that had placed itself conveniently at a very visible position in the shelf in the living room. All of a sudden everybody only listened to its belched out commands, and a group of people couldn't resist it at all and had to start dancing to the rhythm of the commands. Every time the beat box was started again they started moving again. It was an eerie event to watch.
It is unknown at this time what happened to the people who staid in the house as the local paparazza decided to leave the party before she was also sucked into the sphere of influence of the toy.

Clouds

Castlecurragh sky

On my way home today I got to see another interesting cloud formation of which I - naturellement - had to take a photo!

Sitting at my PC I realised that this was the third time that I'd taken photos of this kind within eight months so I decided to create a photo album to collect all of these - I am sure there will be more as there is never a lack of clouds in Ireland. Check back often! :)

Jealousy

See Nicola in nesting mood (this is what I want too). And how the dolphin is growing (this I find simply fascinating).

Oh, yes, if you happen to find pictures of pregnant bellies offensive, don't click on the above links! (I can't really imagine why this would be offensive, but I know there are people like that…)

Questions:
Can you have a baby blues without getting pregnant?
Is this wanting the reason for my falling in love with a cuddly toy and play with her?

Food, glass and colours

I was visiting my friend Annica and decided to bring my camera. I ended up taking loads of photos of her glass bowl and Aisling who was sitting behind the bowl. I think they are quite beautiful, but decide for yourself.

Dreamatised

I often have strange, vivid dreams, sometimes quite exciting SciFi stories, most of the times about rather boring things - just like everybody else I would assume. Some dreams leave me fearful, the next one full of energy, and others, well, dreamatised.

This morning I work up from dreaming that my whole right leg had been tattooed, down from my bum to to my foot. All in a very intricate black and white pattern. The crown jewel was a yellow 10cm high marsupilami figure just over my achilles tendon, neatly fitted into the black and white background, with the tip of its tail going down onto my heel… And it had all been done so easily with a pen and not a tattooing machine; it was truly frightening.

I guess some people would take a dream like this as a sign of which tattoo they really want to have - but fear not, I am not going to have my legs tattooed. That's about the last thing I would ever do! In my dream I even started to wonder how I would explain this to my mum and my sister, especially as I didn't like it myself. And don't get me wrong, I have a tattoo in real live which I proudly presented to them - so it's not about being fearful of somebody else's opinion. This really was about my fear of ending up with something permanent on my body that I don't like.

At the same time I am absolutely fascinated by some of my friends' tattoos - which are on their legs. Hmmm…

On another note: the word 'dreamatised' is nice, but German would have been better to express what I wanted to say:
dream = Traum
trauma = Trauma
traumatised = traumatisiert

A sunny Sunday

The new lookWe had a very nice Sunday with nice warm weather in the 20s (Celsius) and after a visit to the Farmer's Market at the St. Bridget's GAA grounds in Castleknock where we bought nice bread and cheeses, I got busy in the garden. The planting area has grown again and I will be able to put some of those plants out there that I've been growing inside in our extension. If I could choose again what I wanted to be, I think I probably would like to be a gardener…! It's so nice to see all the plants grow. I can't wait to see how my tomatoes will do this year. I am also very keen to see the bell peppers grow - I never had any before. My suspicion is that I will have to keep them inside for most of the time, because it's not getting that warm here in Ireland in the summer. I also have got some seedlings from snapdragon plants that I had back in Holland, some lobelias, hollyhocks (also from Holland), majoram, and primulas. I am simply hoping for a better summer than last year! The good thing in this country is that it's usually not getting too dry so all the plants grow without a problem. This island is not called Emerald Isle without a reason :)

A housewarming

We had a very relaxed Saturday evening at Ben and Raffa's new place!
