Cats and dogs

Rain Lovely, it's pouring down. :(
Puddles I never have puddles in my garden!
Bicycles Just what you need when you've spent the last week at a baking 30C in Germany and then return to a sunny Ireland which made you hopeful enough to fix the bicycles.
Plants On the other hand this makes the inside of the house feel so much more cosy all of a sudden.
And I don't need to water the plants in the garden. :P

A Dalek

If you don't know Dr Who, this photo will be utterly and completely wasted on you:

A Dalek

Nice design anyways.

Summer in the city

It's been quiet here.

Last week Frank and I were back home in Germany, in Berlin and Hanover.

Berlin Dome It was around 30C in Berlin and very close - I never thought I would do that, but I actually wished I was back in Dublin, where it never gets that hot ever. On Saturday afternoon it finally rained and we had thunder too. After that it was bearable and the open-air Rammstein concert much more enjoyable - even though it started to rain while we were there too… But other than that it was great to be in Berlin again - I love the big roads, all the street cafés, the great shops, the food, - and definitely the lower prices!

The Hanover visit was quieter as I only went to see my mum, my sister and my nephew - I didn't have an awful lot of time and didn't want any stress. When my sister was cooking for my nephew and myself, I took a series of photos in an attempt to empty the battery of the camera. When I later looked at the pictures I quite liked the result and made this little animated gif out of them. Cooking.

Mum's Potato Salad

I asked my mum for her potato salad recipe. It's soooo good, but I never prepared it myself before yesterday. It looked a bit different to my mother's salad as I tend to leave the potato peel on and we couldn't get the proper bacon for this, but it still was delicious. Let me share the recipe with you.

Birthday boy

My birthday boy turned 35. (Aaaah, bless!)

He had a wild party to get over this terrible event.

Let's put it this way: some of the documentation has potential for black-mailing and not everybody remembers how they got home.

Some of the party gang

Photo of the month - May

OK, OK, this goes against my (so far undeclared) rules, but this time I had to pick a photo that I didn't take myself. At least it was on our camera. You probably even saw it before, as it was taken at Heidi's and Eric's party.

Peggy Simpson or Marge Kirschner?

Maria Andersson took this photo of myself, Peggy, and Nicola:

Peggy with Marge Simpson hairdo

When we looked at the photo on the camera display after it had been taken, the reaction was a uniform, 'what happened to Peggy's hair?' Only after looking at it for a few more seconds we realised that Mélanie - unknowingly to all of us, even the photographer - was standing right behind Peggy and lent her wonderful curly hair to Peggy for the occasion.
