Cats and dogs
It's been quiet here.
Last week Frank and I were back home in Germany, in Berlin and Hanover.
| The Hanover visit was quieter as I only went to see my mum, my sister and my nephew - I didn't have an awful lot of time and didn't want any stress. When my sister was cooking for my nephew and myself, I took a series of photos in an attempt to empty the battery of the camera. When I later looked at the pictures I quite liked the result and made this little animated gif out of them. |
I asked my mum for her potato salad recipe. It's soooo good, but I never prepared it myself before yesterday. It looked a bit different to my mother's salad as I tend to leave the potato peel on and we couldn't get the proper bacon for this, but it still was delicious. Let me share the recipe with you.

My birthday boy turned 35. (Aaaah, bless!) He had a wild party to get over this terrible event. Let's put it this way: some of the documentation has potential for black-mailing and not everybody remembers how they got home. |
OK, OK, this goes against my (so far undeclared) rules, but this time I had to pick a photo that I didn't take myself. At least it was on our camera. You probably even saw it before, as it was taken at Heidi's and Eric's party.
Maria Andersson took this photo of myself, Peggy, and Nicola:

When we looked at the photo on the camera display after it had been taken, the reaction was a uniform, 'what happened to Peggy's hair?' Only after looking at it for a few more seconds we realised that Mélanie - unknowingly to all of us, even the photographer - was standing right behind Peggy and lent her wonderful curly hair to Peggy for the occasion.
