BIG NEWS: England, here I come again!

I am not going to beat about the bush any longer, Frank and I are going to move again.

House in Eastleigh
Frank accepted a position in the UK, close to Winchester, and will start early October. As for myself, it's not quite clear when I will leave the Emerald Isle but I fully expect to be joining Frank by the end of the year. Frank already went over and rented a house in Eastleigh which is south of Winchester (and north of Southampton). This place will only be a temporary solution until we find a house to buy. At least it will give us enough storage space (four bedrooms) for all of our stuff and we don't have to pay extra for that.

This will be my third time in England, after 6 months in Reading (1989/90) and three years in London (1992 to 1995). Somehow the place is calling me…
Hypnotised

In a way it's a pain to move away as we made some really good friends over here, but then we always knew that we wouldn't grow old in Ireland. This new job seems to be a good opportunity for Frank so we can't miss out on that. Once again, I am hoping for visitors!

It's a bit late, but here it is:

What sports can do for you

Belly competition

Everybody who comes to Ireland to live here puts on some weight over time because of the healthy Irish deep-fried potato diet. But I think in the case of Nicola we can actually claim that it was sports rather than food. PORKERS!

Who's that?

Someone running across the sky

Doesn't this just look like someone running across the sky?

Questions:

  • Is this person running to the right or to the left?
  • Is it a man or a woman?

Click on the image to see a bigger version of it and make up your mind - and let me know what you think.

Update, after Megan's comment:
If you still don't see it take a look at the photos with the runners sketched in.

Cigarette buds and chicken bones

Life could be so nice - if it wasn't for the people who are littering our environment.

A bone, not a chicken bone, but a bone...It's pretty sad and probably anal retentive coming to think of it, but nowadays every time I am leaving the house I am getting annoyed. A while ago it used to be 'only' once a week; to be precise on rubbish collection day. Invariably there are bins for collection out there which don't close properly as their owners cramp as much waste in there as possible. The crows take this as an open invitation to scavenge for food. Never mind that the rubbish is in refuse bags, they will hack and tear until they get somewhere and some portion of the waste makes will make its way onto the road. Later in the day I sometimes find chicken bones in my back garden. I admit at first I suspected

My inner European

And another result I can live with, even though I find it slightly confusing considering that I never ever lived in Spain nor was there on a holiday (I don't think Lanzarote counts):

Your Inner European is Spanish!

Spanish picture
Energetic and lively. You bring the party with you!

Karaoke!!!

The Karaoke crowd

Little Karaoke quiz, with some very short movies (short enough to play here!):
1) Guess the song

If you can't guess it, watch the next movie:
2) Ok, slightly changed lyrics…

Still no luck? Try the last one:
3) Finally, the chorus.

My world view?

I think I can live with this result:

Materialist symbol

You scored as Materialist. Materialism stresses the essence of fundamental particles. Everything that exists is purely physical matter and there is no special force that holds life together. You believe that anything can be explained by breaking it up into its pieces. i.e. the big picture can be understood by its smaller elements.
