Fun with my son
Wow, what a difference four days without teething pain make!!! Yannick is sooooo much happier! He sleeps better, he does more things without me, he even started being a lot more communicative and had a go at signing.
He definitely changed a lot over the last two or three months. It all started with the fact that all of a sudden going out in the pushchair became fun. Before that time, going out was always difficult. About a third of my trips would end with me having to carry him home in my arms or a carrier (which I packed most of the time at the end). If I wouldn't carry him he would cry inconsolably. He didn't like crowded shops, so I couldn't even do some quick food shopping. It got better when he started to accept biscuits as bribe to stay in the push chair and he also drank more water from the bottle, thus the need to go on the boob there and then wasn't quite so important any more. He also started to take a far greater interest in the going ons around us. He's pointing at animals and objects he finds interesting, that's so nice. I can even go into shops with him now!!! I feel like I have got some of my freedom back. This all happened despite the teething.
Over the last days he was just a happy little fellow. For once I didn't have a little boy around my feet who wanted to be picked up ALL the time. OK, he still wants that sometimes, but that's perfectly all right, babies need their cuddles! I was able to do some chores even though he was awake. He would just do his own thing, i.e. push around something with wheels (a car, a big storage box, the pushchair) and babble. So cute. When we are out he crawls across the playground or pushes his pushchair over the fields. He's getting a proper workout!
Of course, now that I've written all of this down there will be tooth pain starting tonight or tomorrow. That's just how life works… Anyway, I need to upload loads of photos of Yannick. Will do that soon, promise!
