Thoughts about loving colours
COLOURlovers.com has become one of my favourite hangouts on the web. I have some space there to present myself, but alas it's becoming too small. Therefore I created this page to archive my old ramblings.
Old thoughts start here…
Older ramblings are here.

I can't believe how similar yet different these two versions of this pattern are:

05 January 2010
A new year… Again. Let's see what this brings us. Have a good one!
13 December 2009
I will be gone for Christmas - best season's wishes to everyone! x

12 November 2009
Had to think of the left pattern today - probably my most successful piece here ever. When I was searching for it I came across the other one at the right and thought, they go together:

3 November 2009
Whoohoo - I've created my first group! Feel welcome to join my Magic Mosaic group and to add your patterns too! I won't broadcast but I may send some invites. People who are interested will find this some way or another. ![]()
So you know which pattern I'm on about, here are some samples from my own stack:

29 October 2009
In keeping with the time of the year…

26 October 2009
Looks I'm back a little! Lately I have found myself being interested in making some palettes again. Not sure what's changed but it can't be bad!
13 July 2009
Sorry, I'm still taking a break. Thank you for all your comments, they are still very much appreciated.
17 May 2009
Sorry, keeping a very low profile at the moment. I'm busy.
30 April 2009
And another important day:

21 April 2009
Today was a big day: Yannick had his first day at pre-school. Here's how it went: Brave boy.
19 April 2009
I had a tough week:

12 April 2009
Have a nice Easter and many, many chocolates!

11 April 2009
And another tribute:

10 April 2009
Ah - if I could ever decide which colours I like best. My favourite colour is green but I keep being drawn to these fiery ones:
4 April 2009
I need to make a change. Since the introduction of the Recent Activity page I've been thanking each and every body who faved one of my palettes or patterns (but I mostly ignored anything purely colour related). Unfortunately this habit has started to eat up a huge amount of my free time every single evening, so from now on I'll only be thanking those who actually leave a comment - for the special effort!
I am partly sorry about this as I really appreciate it when people love my work but I got to a point where I feel hesitant to create more, simply to avoid the work coming with it.
3 April 2009
So, I was running on a basic account for three days without even noticing it - apart from wondering why Recent Activity had shrunk to only five entries. Hm - I wonder why didn't I get a notification that it stopped? I would have paid up immediately… I LOVE this site!
Update - being blond! The email arrived at an account that I rarely check these days… Note to self: change email address used for CL!
28 March 2009
I'm on a mission - lol!

14 March 2009
Some more fun:

(See palette for more offspring patterns.)
11 March 2009
Gosh, I feel all coloured out at the moment… Too many emotions stirred lately and too much of a really bad cold going on.
6 March 2009
And I am continuing:
Oh, yes, don't forget to open these to see more of the pattern 'offspring' of the palettes.
28 February 2009
Last day of this short month.
Recently I made some tribute palettes for some fabulous colourlovers, take a look:
And I'm not done yet!

Some fun with the Red Dwarf palettes [Kryten pattern badge link is broken, click on palette below to see it.]:
7 February 2009
Had some fun while watching Red Dwarf:

27 October 2008:
YES! YES! YES!
I've got 300 lovers - before my birthday! Yippee!
3 October 2008:
I've finally managed to compile all the colour tributes I made a while ago. Here are a couple to wet your appetite:
There's more here!
1 September 2008:
I've changed into an extrovert…! Is it because I have less opportunity to chat to people than when I was working?
With this kind of personality I probably shouldn't even be on this site… Sigh.
13 August 2008:
Aren't we all mad? ![]()

16 July 2008:
250 lovers - yay!!!
Here's a thank you to chaosjewels in particular and to everybody else who's in that list of lover jewels:

2 May 2008:
Does anybody else have the same experience? Palettes I created at day-time often look wrong at night-time and vice versa. Or is that just my screen? I hate this effect.
25 April 2008:
Back at home for almost a week and still catching up on things… Just re-loved all the palettes that I adore (see links below) and worked my way through comments from other lovers. Thanks guys, so much appreciated!!!
15 March 2008:

with my son for five weeks!!!
I'll have some internet access so I won't miss this site completely but still

9 March 2008:
Searching palettes is back! *doing a little virtual dance* Weee!!!
6 March 2008:
Gah, not being able to seach colours, palettes and patterns is a real bummer. How can I do a tribute palette for someone if I can't even browse their colours???
6 February 2008:
To my fellow Colourlovers:

24 January 2008:
Read my blog and you'll know why I haven't been superactive on Colourlovers as I used to be. *yawn*
4 January 2008:
Happy New Year, everybody!
May we see many more wonderful colours, palettes, and patterns!
16 December 2007:
Most likely there won't be any more palettes from me this year, we are going to be at home with our families! To anybody who should still happen to end up on this page:
And thank you for your interest!
9 December 2007:
The new release is out and I feel like I need to revamp my profile page - there was just too much going on here.
1 December 2007:
Aha, all my old friends are back (meaning the usual palettes at the top). It doesn't change much from month to month, but this time the Kiss in the dark has crept in.
21 November 2007:
Playing around:

19 November 2007:
I am a simple girl, I like rainbows:

19 November 2007:
Updated my website with loads of photos including some of the inside of Winchester Cathedral which is magnificent. I am mostly in love with their old floor tiles (see profile photo):

6 November 2007:
Ha, this place is superb. I got a birthday palette and a multiblend made for me!!! YAY! Thank you, lostmy and Dreamagent2! Much love!
3 November 2007:
What? No birthday palette? Hm…. These youngsters, no respect for the elderly…!
1 November 2007:
November, another year of my life has almost passed. Could go melancholy over that subject, let's not get into it. :))
Hey, how do you like my new icon and profile pictures? Suitably unsuitable for the season. One year I had a beach party for my birthday…
30 October 2007:
October nearly over, new palette ranking fun coming up!!! ![]()
Just added my five tribute palettes to the Tributes group. Love to play with other lovers' colours!
3 October 2007:
I love it when the new month starts and all my old palettes fall off my top palette list on this page and something new gets displayed. Then I like watching how the old favourites keep crawling back into the list until I get bored with them again and then it's time for a new month.
29 September 2007:
Wheeh - over 100 lovers!!!
And wheeh again: one of my palettes has become one of Zico's favourite palettes of the week:

26 September 2007:
I've had so much fun here over the last weeks with my partner being at home for the whole month, taking some of the load of entertaining our little boy. Sadly this is coming to an end soon and I will struggle finding enough time for my favourite site on the web.
Oh, yes, as I am writing this I have 97 lovers. Who will be number 100???
1 September 2007:
I wish I had more time for this! I get all these nice comments and would really like to thank everyone individually for them, but I just don't know any more how to fit that in. I spend plenty of time already to look at new palettes and comment on those and when I see that I keep looking at stuff from one person in particular I TRY to check out their stuff in more detail and decide whether to love them or not. More often than not I don't even to manage to do that as I am very busy with my little boy. Anyway, to everybody who commented on my work and didn't get a reaction from me: a heartfelt THANK YOU!!! I really appreciate every single comment!
12 August 2007:
I think I am starting to copy myself and others… More and more of the palettes I do, seem to remind me of something I did earlier. When I go looking for the palette in question I quite often can't find what I thought was mine. So it probably was somebody else's. Ooops! Take it as a compliment!!!
27 July 2007:
Gosh, even though I've hardly been active over the last days, there are still people finding my older palettes and loving them and me!!! Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!
7 June 2007:
It's quite interesting to watch as people reproduce very similar patterns over and over (me included), for example the blue, red or green fades. Also the 'beach view'/ 'summer day'/'day at the sea' combos have come up very often since I joined CL. When they get done too often the community seems to get bored with themes, as the 'repetitions' often don't get any points. I have to say it's hard to find something original and often when there's something that doesn't look like everybody else's stuff it's not that popular with the other colour lovers. I am still searching for colour combinations off the trodden path by exploring very dark colours, I think they are fascinating. But this won't stop me to also continue with more fun palettes. Thanks for all the nice comments so far and may there be many more smiles!
21 May 2007:
Quite a few palettes and only a couple of days later I find that I am using loads of baby pink - a colour that I normally try to keep away from me as it doesn't suit me at all. It's quite fascinating to use it, as it makes loads of other colours more alive.
19 May 2007:
I've always been playing with colour combinations, so how comes I didn't come across this site any earlier???
